Schwalbe Marathon Plus. They are heavy but I'm willing to compromise for how bomb proof they are.

not for skidding though, the rubber is just an average thickness, its the puncture protection layer that's really thick, great for commuting through the city on a regular basis though

i likes it so much i picked up another, for the masi. i was gonna try out a fixation tire on the front, but i heard some really bad shit about em so i probably gonna stick on a zaffiro.

anyone have recent experiences with the fixation session tires?

so i spent 60$ on a soma everwear( actually its fronted so i havent spent it yet).
its a 23c slick with minimal side tread, and i was kind of pessimistic.
i was waaaay wrong. this tire grabs so well i pulled my groin muscles. no joke. in rain, you can put the bike sideways and even lean it down a bit and retain complete control. i am freakin shocked. it almost grips too well. and its 5mm of solid badass rubber for burning.

for the front ive been really partial to the vittoria rubino, also in a 23.
for now im gonna stick with this setup. theyre both light fast pizza cutters.

I was extremely happy with them. My set lasted like 15 months (around 5000 miles) being brakeless with no flats!

i bought zaffirro front+rear tyres a couple moths back, skidded through the rear pretty fast and replaced it with a 28c randonneur, which is lasting well. looks more like a 25 than a 28 though.

yeah, i dont want a massive one, im quite glad the 28 was narrow, if anyone wants a tough tyre for a bike with tighter clearances it would be perfect

I have a set of Continental Touring Plus casing in 700x28c...fast, great cornering and bulletproof...I never had a flat with those babies, ever...
