Okay, my friend and I are heading off for a freeride/downhill trip this summer, thought of riding maybe a week or so. Any advice on where we should go? We're both too young to rent cars (you have to be at least 21 right?), so everything should be within a pedaling distance (bike shop for spares, grocery store, restaurant, hotels et.c.). We've thought primarily of France and Switzerland, but any suggestions are welcome. The main thing is that you'd be able to ride kick-ass, lift-assisted DH/FR trails a week or maybe two without getting tired of them. Thanks Smile

How far do you want to go? I've heard great things about morzine and chatel, hafjells another awesome option if it opens again this year

Hafjell isn't really an option TBH, we want to order the flight and accomodation ASAP in order to have it done with and have the possibility to negotiate. If there's a risk of Hafjell not opening this summer that'd be a bummer. Might look in to Morzine and Chatel though. So they are Europe's two must go places? Thought if there might be some more underground place that is awesome?

its called 'underground' for a reason.

Theyve just announced that theyll remain open for 2014 and then review it to see if enough people come to make it worth to continue after that. Hafjell's amazing but Morzine and Chatel have probably got more runs. You could always turn it into a road trip and hit up some of the other Norwegian and Swedish bike parks on the way, theres two in the Oslo area that are pretty awesome, just not as big as Hafjell, Tryvann and Drammen. Theyve both got some seriously sick runs.
