I am thinking about buying either a Scott Voltage or a Scott Gambler. One of the major differences between the models is the rear suspension design.
The gambler has a four bar(?) design: Unsecure image, only https images allowed: http://fstatic2.mtb-news.de/f3/16/1654/1654622-cpkxqgnzs38w-scott_gambler_710_2015_1-large.jpg whereas the Voltage has a single pivot(?) design: Unsecure image, only https images allowed: http://www.damianharriscycles.co.uk/_images/product-photos/sc/scott-voltage-fr-710-freeride-2015-full-suspension-bike-a.jpg What is the pros and cons of each design? I am especially thinking about performance and behaviour, of course.
I know that we are talking about two different kinds of bikes. But I guess it's still possible to point out differences between the two rear suspension designs?
Will one absorb more of your pedaling power than the other? Is one better for absorption of small bumps? Is one better for absorbing big hits? Will one compress more when applying the rear brake?
but I can speak for old voltage and I can say its small bump its good. if talking big drops, its sure can handle it and I am even surprised for the bike that big, you can pedal it easily.
But I sold it because I found a better bike that suite with my riding style.
