Hey fellow bikers,

I have been of SRAM faith for almost 10 years, but now wish to run either Zee or Saint brakes by Shimano on my big bike. Never used anything from Shimano, so sorry if this sounds dumb.

Saint and Zee brakes are sold with something called I-Spec levers, that, if I understand correctly, can only be mounted on matching Shimano shifters. I have no reason or money to instantly change everything to matching Shimano components, so is there a way for me to mount I-Spec levers simply on the bar? Some kind of adapter or smth? I googled for an adapter, but ended up with nothnig.

Is there really no other way but to also change my shifting?

Thanks

The brake levers always mount to the bar. The i-spec lets you mount the shifters to the levers instead of the bar. If your current shifters are already bar mounted then you don't need anything extra.

so you guys are saying that levers provided in this set will clamp onto my bar? http://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/shimano-saint-disc-brake-set-br-m820-b-86993

My current shifter is SRAM.
