Imagine a qr using Fox's system that is either lighter weight, from a different material or different amount of CNCing, or imagine it as a ti skewer made to be much stronger than the typical offerings, as bikes equipped with 15mm are getting more aggressive every day. Hell, maybe they're just to add a bit more of a custom and blingy feel to your bike? If this turns into the "complain about expensive parts" thread, that ain't cool.

Wouldn't need a slotted dropout, look at the Pike, Mattoc, or 34 axle. All are 15mm through axles. This would likely use a similar system.

And here's a snippet about how it wasn't made for us anyway;

"One of the concerns with moving to thru axles on road bikes is the time consuming process of wheel removal, a legitimate issue in the heat of the peloton or wheel pits in ‘cross. Paul Components looks like it may have a solution with their upcoming quick release thru axle skewers."

They're doing MTB sizes as it's Paul C's and they kick ass. Why not?

O+

So pretty.

Not a big fan of my rear maxle. Not sure why but it likes to unwind itself very slowly. I'd be stoked on a better QR for that, not that they'll be cheap.

I think he's saying why do we need 15mm qr when a 15mm thru is simple and effective. You would also need a fork with 15mm slotted dropouts for that to be even worth while

Yes, and indeed yes. Wink
If slotting 15mm dropouts, we're pretty much back where we started.
Without slotted dropouts, there is no significant gain over most of the current systems that I can think of.
