Could use a little advise, stepping up from a 1x10 slx to an xt 1x11 after I took a gnarled fall and destroyed the derailleur and a few teeth of 2 of my gears. I'm reading a lot of ppl dropping the granny gear while back pedaling and was wondering if there's a chain option that prevents this?

I don't have a brand or any preference however I did notice on my first 1x10 build that chains that use pins to connect run much smoother than chains that connect with an s link

The chains are different, as you pack more gears into the same place the chain gets narrower..

Visit your local shop, they'll set you straight
