I lived in Whistler many years ago and have ridden so many trails out there. I actually sold my truck to buy my first Rocky Mountain bike. Many of us would actually ride all year long, even to the ski hill in the winter! Alta Vista Lodge, I believe, has been around for a long time. Often my ride would end at Lost Lake (north side) for a breather and a dip. I'm glad to hear there are still places out there that are not totally commercial. I'd love to get some of my buddies together, fly out to Whistler for a few days and hit the mountains. What would be the best way to check out the MB trails if you're from out of town? Any websites or anything?
