New Production Planet-X RidgeBacks are here.

Its been talked about as a myth, an urban legend (Pun intended!), well let me lay those stories aside, check out the pictures of the working full production version of the all new Planet-X RidgeBack.The frame is made from 6061 triple heat-treated hydro-formed Aluminum. This is the latest and greatest in Bicycle tubing technology; it has all the strength of our previous suppliers tube but with greater rigidity and the bonus of less weight.

The look is big and burly, but all is not what it seems. The two major tubes are constructed in on piece for maximum strength and weight, with the mock weld and gusset being created in the Hydro Forming process for aesthetics and performance

The frame will come in two versions, the Horizontal version shown above and a traditional vertical D/O version featuring the same CNC'd drop outs as the Jack Flash and Mk5 Zebdi

The design includes many of the features seen on the prototypes from last season but has been refined further to include an adjustable wheelbase. This is achieved using a Planet-X original design for the drop outs, which allows for a 4 way adjustment to the rear triangle

The geometry is such that with a 24" wheel the chain stays can be moved in to 15.75", the shortest setting for 26" wheel is 16" with the max setting for both wheel sizes being 17"

The Head tube is now internally relieved allowing for a better weld alignment with the new Hydro Formed tubing.

The cable guides are quick release designed for continuous length cable housing for ease of maintenance and longevity of cables.
Color options for initial production run will be Matte Black or Pearl White with the Planet-X logo on the Down Tube
