That was awesome and great riding. I give mad props to these girls~ I would have either crashed and landed in myself in a hospital bed or ended up dying of a heart attack haha
(Jun 22, 2013 at 6:02)
shame rach atherton would have been soooooo much faster
(Jun 22, 2013 at 6:23)
Sorry about that, my friend decided this would be funny, feel free to abuse his account as he's retarded.
(Jun 22, 2013 at 10:53)
Wow, she can really talk
(Jun 22, 2013 at 12:42)
These girls shred fast
(Jun 22, 2013 at 5:40)
It's amazing how they ride that fast and still stay calm and manage to commentate
(Jun 22, 2013 at 7:26)
... in a second language.
As someone who grew up in Japan, it never ceases to amaze me that the vast majority of Americans never learn a language other than American English. Thanks, Emilie. My admiration for both the riding skill, and mental chops to talk us through your run in English.
(Jun 22, 2013 at 9:04)
This course is brutal. Props to everyone going flat out here. And woop woop is da sound a da police. oh.. And also kev roberts sucks if davehayz93 is for real.
(Jun 22, 2013 at 6:21)
(Jun 22, 2013 at 5:14)
These braking bumps are looking just awful... props for talking that much while pinning it!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 5:44)
Its DH dude, breaking bumps are part of it!!!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 6:29)
A bit of maintenance on them wouldn't go a miss though!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 7:00)
first of all its a bikepark, dude! I not paying a shit ton of money for a lift ticket to ride brearking bumps! there is basically NO maintenance in Leogang - which really is a shame. they theoretically have nice flowy trails but practically the breaking bumps ruin it! Thus I am not going to visit Leogang any more. there are better parks anyway
(Jun 22, 2013 at 8:07)
I think people are FAR too keen on giving negative props for peoples comments. TomasK merely stated what in my opinion is true, that breaking bumps are just part of DH, so why give him neg props? Even if you don't agree is it really such a bad comment?
(Jun 22, 2013 at 8:11)
brake bumps suck
(Jun 22, 2013 at 8:18)
@the dude88 yes I totally agree that they are sh*t but they are on most tracks, granted not quite as much as Leogang (they do look like they need some maintenance) but isnt it just part of DH riding? That really wasn't my point though, I just think people give negative props out too easily...I mean -5 just for him saying that it was part of DH. He never slated anyone or used abusive language. I do see your point though, they DO SUCK
(Jun 22, 2013 at 9:23)
Breaking bumps ftw....braaaapppp
(Jun 22, 2013 at 9:45)
well, the issue is I consider rather natural, technical, rough and steep tracks as DH tracks. you wont see someone complain about braking bump in Vale Di Sole or Champery. On the other hand, you have bmx-like tracks like Leogang that used to be super flowy once but not they got a little bit rough coz of breaking bumps.
(Jun 22, 2013 at 14:17)
its freakin downhill get the Hell over it
(Jun 23, 2013 at 4:41)
Well, I don't see any pleasure in senseless bitting the bike on the braking bumps, maybe that's why I'm not riding DH... but anyway, Todesengel has made a great point - if I go through the europe and pay that much to ride in a bikepark, I would expect the tracks to be in perfect condition. Hopefully other tracks out there have better prepared berms.
(Jun 23, 2013 at 10:07)
so if we sum it up... nobody likes riding over brake bumps, they kill your flow... but they are a part of it.
(Jun 23, 2013 at 23:11)
I don't see what the big deal is about breaking bumps. When there's heavy breaking into a corner there's gonna be breaking bumps forming whether you like them or not so you might as well figure our how to ride em. Get loose ya pansies.
(Jun 24, 2013 at 8:38)
Downhilladdicts bang on, learn to ride them and they won't kill your flow, if you don't like them you probably shouldn't be riding DH as they're everywhere just waiting to get you!
(Jun 24, 2013 at 10:01)
god, could please only ppl respond who have ridden in leogang! this is not about small breaking bumps which undoubtfully belong to our sport, this is about 20-25 cm deep holes that cover the best two tracks in leogang.
(Jun 25, 2013 at 5:49)
how the f*** do you know where i ride dude?! Did you not just watch the video? Doesn't look like those ladies are struggling too much for speed and flow, learn to ride or head down to the slopestyle course if you want smooth berms and turns
(Jun 25, 2013 at 6:44)
since you obviously have been in leogang at least once (right?), you want to tell me that you enjoyed riding trails that would be perfectly flowy but due to a huge lack of maintenace are just aweful to ride. the trail flying gangster which you have ridden at least once (right?) would be one of the funnest tracks in europe! but it isnt! why? because of the mentioned holes everywhere.
my initial statement was, that leogang is a bikepark primarily! A track that is easy as hell and just gets a bit rough because of breaking bumps is a failure! i wouldnt even mind argueing here, if the other tracks in leogang were in a good shape but they arent. now pls stfu, we all agree here that breaking bumps belong to our sport but i also strongly believe that a bikepark should maintain its tracks - especially if you charge ppl ~33.- €/day
(Jun 25, 2013 at 11:19)
Getting boring and old this argument. Shhhh
(Jun 25, 2013 at 12:16)
riding fast through horrible terrain its the best thing on DH, so i dont understand, why the bumps are so big deal for some of people ...if you dont like it, go ride Tour de France or XC trails
(Jun 25, 2013 at 16:02)
(Jun 22, 2013 at 13:39)
No woop on the last jump
(Jun 22, 2013 at 6:27)
Impressive riding... guess I have to move to the mountains to find a super cool chick with a sweet accent.
(Jun 23, 2013 at 16:23)
I might have to join you!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 9:19)
Woot! Woot! & Woot!
How she talks and pins it at the same time blows my mind!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 4:58)
Damn that was quick.
(Jun 22, 2013 at 6:49)
I'm probably misstaking but..i've got the feeling this track is the same than the WC one !if it is, it would mean WC and european cup are as difficult ?...
(Jun 22, 2013 at 8:19)
possibly but the level of riders are different so the competition would technically be easier
(Jun 22, 2013 at 5:16)
Probably one of the fastest courses I've seen in a bit, and these girls just murder it...
(Jun 22, 2013 at 17:29)
I'm in love. She's now my favorite and I'll be rooting for her
(Jun 22, 2013 at 13:04)
How in the hell do you have the composure to talk whilst shredding that fast! Mind-blowing!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 18:00)
Probably the best course preview I've seen. Love Emilie's commentary.
(Jun 22, 2013 at 15:30)
I'm gonna do a commentary next time I ride - even without a GoPro. Maybe I will ride like her...!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 16:57)
Braking bumps are something to expect when 400 racers are going down a track at least 20 times
(Jun 22, 2013 at 5:49)
Apart from the 'whooping' sounds, she's 8x the man I am.
(Jun 22, 2013 at 5:30)
Emilie is one of my favorite female riders to watch. Are the IXS races an invite only type race?
(Jun 22, 2013 at 5:43)
No everyone can participate!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 14:06)
The "Whoop"s made that video amazing....she needs to do a track dissection at every venue
(Jun 22, 2013 at 6:23)
sick riding!!! What is the max. speed ever arcieved on leogang by a pro??? does somebody know that?
(Jun 25, 2013 at 3:54)
how long until someone bites off their tongue on one of these talk over course checks?
(Jun 22, 2013 at 17:05)
I love these vids
(Jun 23, 2013 at 1:23)
She would make a real good co-commentator for Rob at WC. So exited about going fast and a good talker :-)
(Jun 22, 2013 at 23:21)
How in the world do you narrate that while riding it? I was out of breath just watching. Prospective.
(Jun 22, 2013 at 21:06)
prolly all i can say is holly sh*tt from the top to bottom..
(Jun 22, 2013 at 17:00)
yeah same track as the World Cup ... Really nice track
(Jun 23, 2013 at 5:25)
Braking bumps - that is all
(Jun 22, 2013 at 7:31)
What a sick ass course! So stoked to ride now!!!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 6:12)
That was awesome!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 5:23)
Looks like a fun run. She made it look too easy!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 5:20)
Damn, that's a long course.
(Jun 22, 2013 at 6:35)
Breathtaking ride. She ate that track with eeeezz.
(Jun 22, 2013 at 10:13)
Im there 17th Aug whoop!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 9:55)
(Jun 23, 2013 at 16:15)
Great course preview. Well done ladies, pinning it!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 6:55)
As beavis would say...damn, you're smooth...!
(Jun 22, 2013 at 5:01)
that was really smooth riding. good job!
(Jun 23, 2013 at 22:22)
(Jun 22, 2013 at 8:18)
that was really awesome!
