On site camping lead to a festival atmosphere, with Red Bull providing the tunes.
The track started with some tight, techy sections with lots of line choice.
An open chute in the middle tested riders mettle, with a tight corner at the bottom it was a case of having enough balls to stay off the brakes as long as possible whilst still being able to make the turn.
The mess of tape at the bottom was a sign of the carnage that had been playing out on the off camber corner.
The middle section had some fairly long pedally straights before dropping back into a steep rut towards the finish.
Heckle location for the day was the steep rut near the end.
Heckling is proven to make you ride at least 10% faster.
This is what BUCS DH is all about. Getting rowdy without taking yourself too seriously. The Jamaican bobsleigh team were also out in force but the ban on skinsuits meant they weren't allowed to wear them for race runs, boooo!
The boys on the enduro bikes were killing it, especially Joel Chidley who took it upon himself to ride back to the top to avoid delays with the uplift and still finished in the top 10.
Pans in the middle woods.
There's always enough time for a post race cool down.
Bollocks uplift? I thought the uplift ran smoothly. Yes you have to pedal a mile from the car park and push up the last wee bit thats always the case at inners, even for the regional series and BDS!
Caersws uplift was better as there was a lot less riders competing last year so there was hardly any queing.
