After a very successful season on board the 2007 Devinci Wilson 2 bikes, it was a no brainer to stick with the bike company out of Quebec for 2008. Devinci had been hard at work creating a whole new version of their successful Wilson and it is what our DH Team is on board this race season. The team is on board the all new Wilson 4 frames with some custom love from the rest of the sponsors.
Read on to check out the fancy new rigs:As we mentioned above, last year the team raced on the 2007 Wilson 2 frame, but this year they are riding the fully re-designed Wilson 4 frames. Check the picture below to see just how much things have changed.
2008 Frame shown in Green
Photo credit:Devinci.comDevinci has clearly gone through extensive development over the past few years to create this new race worthy frame, not only with general frame design, but everything right down to the removable decals, and the linkage placement. Through the frame revisions Devinci was capable of shaving 1.35 lbs from the previous frame weight, meaning the new frame touched down at 8.8 lbs. Features like adjustable rear travel (from 8.6" - 9.1"), adjustable chain stay lengths and BB height options make this bike very versatile for various courses. These settings labeled "DH" and "FR" are clearly described by this chart below.

The
Wilson 4 has a number of unique things going for it.
Featuring a 1.5" head tube, MAXLE compatible dropouts, and replaceable ISCG tabs (you can get either ISCG or ISCG05), the Wilson was designed to take abuse.
These frames have all been built up with the rest of the team parts for this race season and so far the team has seen some good podium action including a National Title and representation at the World Championships last month. Expect to see the team out on the various race circuits for the rest of this season on their custom equipped Devinci Wilson 4s.
We did a test on a 2008 Devinci Wilson 3 back in the fall,
Check it out here.
