Bikers are looking forward to the start of the new season and with that, an action packed event calendar at one of Europe’s bike-meccas, Saalfelden Leogang. No matter if downhill action or exhausting uphill races – from May until September, the downhill tracks as well as the enduro trails and the bike park again guarantee a lot of fun. On May 14th, Bikepark Leogang will open its doors after the winter break. Once again, GraVity Card holders will be able to get unlimited access to the Bikepark all season. As one of “Europe’s Leading Bikeparks”, Leogang has prepared its trails from the famous Riders Playground (for beginners) to the 'Speedster' (track for downhill thrill seekers). More information can be found here.

After the season opening in May there is more action to come. From June 11th to June 14th, the Out of Bounds Festival will bring the world’s best mountain bikers to Leogang. Overall UCI Downhill World Cup Champions, Manon Carpenter and Josh Bryceland both won in Leogang last year. Can they defend their title on the 'Speedster’ track against fellow Brits, the Atherton's? Last year Aaron Gwin made history with his flat tire run, hopefully he will have more luck this year.

The dirt jumpers will also make their way to Austria for the 10th edition of the legendary FMB Gold Event, the 26TRIX. Can athletes like Martin Soderstrom or Sam Pilgrim fly higher and spin faster than current champion Nicholi Rogatkin? Last year the trick level peaked at 26TRIX with riders pulling world premiers, like Antoine Bizet’s double backflip nohander. Can they raise the bar even higher for 2015? At the third Biberg Auffiradler on July 18th, Saalfelden’s backyard mountain will be the host of a leg burning uphill race. A 5.5 kilometer (3.7 mi) long track and a 700 meter (2,297 ft) climb separate the participants from the finish line at Berli’s Hütte. Another energy-sapping event for athletes will follow on July 19th and 20th when the Bike Transalp will lead for the first time to Saalfelden Leogang. The mountain bikers will reach Saalfelden on Sunday via a panoramic descent along the Ritzensee. The next day the route leads to Bikepark Leogang and another 1,000 meters (3,281 ft) up to the Asitz mountain. For more information please visit: bike-transalp.de/en/news/

If you think you are ready for a 1,126 meter (3,694 ft) climb with an average 16 percent incline, then Leogang has the perfect event for you – the fourth edition of the MTB Hillclimb on September 6th. Bikers will have to tackle the 12-kilometer (7.8 mi) trail up to the Asitz mountain as part of the seventh Asitzgipfelberglauf. Click here for more details:

Visitors and bikers can celebrate the best of mountain biking at the Biketember Festival from September 18th until 20th. In Bürgerau, the Cross Country Europacup race (XCO C1) will take place on the 2012 World Championship track. The enduro specialists will also head up to Saalfelden Leogang for the finals of the Specialized-SRAM Enduro Series. Real downhill fans can also look forward to the iXS European Downhill Cup where the racers will take on Bikepark Leogang’s most challenging track, the 'Speedster.' A trip to Leogang is a great family adventure, where kids can gain their first race experience at the mountain bike XC race in the Scott Juniors Trophy. When does all the action go down?
