We have not tried. I have had some built with some pretty huge 26" tires with no seat-tube/tire contact (when bottoming out) so I would think a more reasonable 27.5" tire (2.25ish) might work. We are excited with Transition's foray into 27.5" for 2014 but this year we've been pretty locked in to 26" and 29".
