I am currently addapting a trail by me so it can be ridden xc style. Its been a real pain in places and one section i might have to build some n-shore similar to yours.

Have made several northshore features in the past that have been built for different purposes.

I might have to build a bridge over a boggy area, at first i thourght it could be ridden as it is... but its gettins so worn so fast thats its becoming hard to ride. Its at the bottom of a steep up section too so when you need to get traction for the "up" you rear wheel is spinning and washing on hidden rocks. Don't get me wrong i like my riding to be a challenge but this is just irritating! Hahahaa

Thanks for the link too

Yeah that's why we built this (and it's fun!) the area's pretty sloppy when wet and the compression at the bottom was just ramming you into a muddy rut. Cool drop btw, best to debark the wood though it lasts longer.

 Coming along well mate.
I had a little go at making a trail today (no tools though!). Didn't really come along too well. Frown

I got a folding snow shovel which fits in my Camelbak nicely, but I seem to always leave my Camelbak at home.
You gonna put chicken wire over the top of the wood?

Ah cool, could do with one of them. It's all hand split with a wedge so it makes the surface pretty grippy, rather than smooth like chainsawed rungs. Will see how it goes when it wears a bit.
