this dates back a bit but, back when I was paying retail for my bike goodies, I bought an XTR rear D... ungraded from an XT which was working perfectly fine but, I wanted to add some bling to my bike.. I got it on the bike, in the parking lot of where I was about to ride... I was on the trail for less than 2 minutes, a stupid little stick kicked up and got stuck between the rear D and the spokes... rear D ripped clean off the bike, took the hanger with it.. the rear D broke in half cause of that stupid little stick --- that was the last time I put top-notch bling rear D's on my bikes.

 952, my brother has one on his new-ish gt. such a smooth shift for their time, and still good by todays standards!
