Just put my Nobby Nic 2.25 on the rear...clearance is better now. I used the old sealant which was fine, at £9 per tyre I didn't want to waste it!, just scooped it out with a spoon.

What/how much sealant are you using that costs £9 per tyre?

That new sealant from Wickens & Soderstrom, its £18 for 300ml and for a 27.5×2 35 tyre it says to add 150ml per tyre. I checked this up with the guy who makes it and he said yeah its best to add 150ml for that size tyre. What appealed to me about this sealant was the fact its non drying and so you don't have to keep topping it up which also adds weight.

I've found it to be really good and in the 4 weeks of setting up my tyres they haven't lost a drop of air.Smile

Oh that's fair enough then that sounds really good, might have to look into that as I change tyres quite a lot

Yeah I think its just made at home by a guy in his shed so I don't really know how it will compare to Stans for example but so far it seems to be ok. They are working on the next version of this sealant but I don't think it will for sale until the beginning of next year. I wondered why they are making a new sealant!, as that made me think is something wrong with this one but it works fine for me so far. What he said is that some people were saying they have been losing air pressure with certain tyre & rim combos but that could just be because they're not proper tubeless ready rims & tyres, but I don't know for sure anyway.

I'm interested to see how long it takes for this sealant to dry out, it says its non drying and lasts the life of a tyre, but how long is that!. Someone told me that all sealants dry out eventually, so we shall see in time whether it does or not.

Looking good! How do you find those grips?
I've just received my WTB Trail Boos, also 2.25 for a faster rolling speed Smile
They are expensive but look the biz.

Yeah I've been paying attention to WTB tyres as they seem to be very popular just lately. I did think of getting some WTB tyres but seeing as though I already have 4 Schwalbe tyres, 5 now including my new Nobby Nic, I thought I'd just stick with this brand for now. The weights of the WTB tyres seem to be a bit heavier than Schwalbe tyres but I guess they are tougher tyres.

As for the grips, at first I thought they was a bit thin for my liking but I've soon got used to them. They get quite a sticky feeling to them after riding for a little while but they haven't shown any signs of wear and don't leave any rubber on your hands. I have yet to find another grip that looks appealing enough for me to want to change too. They're single clamp but they hold really well with no movement and have built in end caps, both the clamp & end caps are non-removeable. Definitely recommend them but just remember they can feel a bit thin if you are used to thicker grips.
