Just made. Very nice wood, very spendy, and way soften than I anticipated. The grain is ridiculous.

My father turns and he's been at it for years, reckon he would be very jealous at how the grain turned out on this piece. Great work!

Have you ever worked with Mystic (I think that's the name of it), it's a wood that has the strangest grain, an almost pearlescent quality, it's different shades and has cross grain.

If you can find it, it looks amazing!

Cheers mate. Never heard of it but there's so many woods out there that the more I learn about wood the less I know......you know?

Thanks five. I felt obligated to the tree not to fuck this one up. I don't come across redwood very often.

I think the tree would be proud...

Awesome character in the wood. Looks great.

I agree Isaac, the grain is hypnotizing. The smartest thing I could do was to make he design of the bowl as simple as possible. But having said that, the wood itself is way softer than I prefer for turning. Beautiful tree though.

I haven't spun anything before-seems like an interesting skill that allows you to make cool things... Recently made a pretty sweet crib with Red Oak and Cherry, wood working is therapeutic. That's for sure.
