Dude! That is a sick rig! Are you going to keep the Vivid Air on it? If so, let me know how it rides cuz I'm thinking about getting one.

Called in sick today and taking it out in a few hours here, found some new land with lots of those rare hill thingies on it... I LOVE air shocks, especially for around here where it's smooth for the most part. Only problem I'm having is getting the sag right. Seems like I have soooo much PSI in it, but it's not my grandpas air shock, so trying to forget what I thought I knew!

Vivid air is here to stay! Very limited use with it, but it didn't lack for anything! Seems all gushy and wallowy when just stiing down and butt-pumping through a few rough(ish) sections, but I could just stand up and pop off a tree root or something and the thing comes alive! It's like a ninja waiting calmly in the shadows, ready to attack!

I may just pick one up then sometime this season. I'm becoming a rear shock whore. LOL I had a Marz WC Air last year and honestly it was the best shock I've ever had ( including coils) so you;d think I'd stick with it, but Noooo, Now I'm going to try a Fox 5.0 Air which I've heard mixed reviews about, but if it's a turd I'm gon spring for dat Vivid!

Hell dude, a Marz Roco Air is what got me hooked! Had that on my Khyber and beat the PISS out it,,,or whatever was in it to begin with... Trashed all the pivot hardware in it and trashed two bearings in one weekend in Colorado and that Roco didn't even argue.

Did I mention a HUGE thanks to DropNZone.com for the sick hookup?? Deal so good I feel kinda guilty....but just a little!

Looks effing sick! hows the vivid air?

Most un-noticable part on my bike. Thing is just buttery smooth. NO difference between it and a coil. Except the weight and the price of a Ti spring!
  • 1 0
it looks way sicker than a coil too! Have you ever noticed any inconsistency in the damping as it heats up?if you ever don't want it anymore I'd be glad to take it off your hands lol

Honestly, there is NO place within 8 hours of me that I can push it that far. I plan on moving to the PNW this year, so it WILL get pushed that far ASAP! But if I didn't look down not only would I not know it isn't a coil...but it's the smoothest coil I'd have ever ridden. Thing is fluid and it's a perfect match to the TR450.

im super jealous, its like my dream to go out west to go on some real mountains. What made you go with the vivid over the double barrel? they are about the same in price

Wasn't even a choice. Infinite spring weights being a strong deciding factor. Then there's the weight, half pound lighter than even a coi;l shock with a Ti coil. And air shocks in general tend to jump/pop and pedal a bit better. My ideal trail/track preference would be tight, twisty, jumpy. Trails that require a LOT of body english to move the bike around. I LOVE transferring the bike from rock to rock, or switching sides with a single pop, the freedom to ride a completely different trail than the guy in front of or behind me!

wow didnt realize it was that light!! your the complete opposite of me. I have no grace or style I just kind of try to hold on and plow through stuff (good thing I have a plow bike lol). let me know how it rides when you get to the big boy mountains! haha

 Sick! Looks very classy.

Needs a new Boxxer I think! But that one's getting painted matching orange with white on black decals for now. Nothin wrong with it, just 2 years older than the frame!
  • 1 0
Maybe the new one with 35mm stanchions? Wink That's gonna look awesome, although the black looks good too. Same here, nothing is wrong an older Boxxer, nothing at all.

Still need SOOOO many $$$ parts yet! Really want to go pivotal seat/post, but the seat tube is pretty laid back and I like my seats FLAT, no nose up my ass. Don't think the pivotals will work. So gonna have to drop the coins on a Thomson and a roadie saddle. That seat/post in the pic is almost 2 pounds! Rear brake hose is too long, gotta get that cut and rebled, needs thinner headset spacers, and was debating orange grips, or maybe just orange bar ends...but I kinda like it moto'd out like this...

 sik sik ride man

You positive a pivotal won't work? I think it just might. I didn't know it was that heavy! Damn! When it comes to the color, I'd leave it like this for the time being. Speaking of colors, I'm really tempted to murder my Izimu out.
  • 1 0
No one does that anymore! I say go for it! Been a LONG time since I've seen a blacked out bike.
And I prefer the term "Vader'd"

Heheh...

Got any pivotals sitting around that you can play with for me? I actually also just did some quick match and a Thomson post and a saddle in the 265g or less range would be really close to a pivotal setup in weight.. just not quite as ninja...

It's pretty common for DJ/Street but for DH, I certainly don't see it often. Vader'd. I like that.

I certainly do. Just let me know what you'd want me to do and I'll run outside and snap some quick photos for ya. Not bad, but pivotal just looks soooo clean.

EDIT: Damn, I replied to the wrong comment lol.

No need to do it tonight, brother. It's 11:30 here and I gotta work in 5 hours!

I'm looking at the Macneil 330 post and a Stolen P-Boss saddle...but basically I need to see what it looks like from the side with nose down as far as it will go!
I did it once before on a Mongoose EC-D and ended up just shaving down the first ridge of plastic on the seat so it would tilt down just a few more degrees. But I THINK that may have been a bit slacker yet at the seat tube...
Thanks man!

Alrighty, I will snap that pic tomorrow. I'll take the pic with it as far down as possible.
