Unfortunately the earthquake earlier this year decimated Langtang. It is going to be a hard road for the Nepalese to recover. However, tourism including mountain biking in the region is a great way of helping their economy.

I first rode (well I walked/hiked lots of sections) from Katmandu through to the end of the Langtang valley - including to the top of Yala Peak - on my trusty Stumpjumper back in 1992. At that time many of the locals had never seen a bicycle.
