I bought one of these summer 2011 and it has been my favorite bike since. I personally love the 29 inch wheels. I have ridden both 26 inch hard tails and full suspension bikes for years, and the 29er is superior to both in my opinion. It handles rough terrain like a FS26 with the efficiency of a HT26. I should mention that the specific Rig that I have is built with Paragon components, so it is a bit different (mainly because it is a 27-speed instead of a SS), but all of the information I have given is completely relevant to the SS variant.

The bottom line is that for anyone looking for an efficient and capable bike to shred single track with, look no further.

Trek 2011 Rig (MSRP $1619.99) — Nothing beats the efficiency and simplicity of a 29er hardtail. Great for XC racing, marathons, 24-hour racing, or simply shredding singletrack.
