Dec 19, 2023Turner DHR, Custom Build, Medium
$700 USDSelling my size Medium DHR. Bike is in very good shape! Suspension is 2014 top of the line; the Boxxer coil is the world cup model, and the damping adjustments (high and low speed compression, high and low speed rebound) still work well. Ditto on the Fox Van RC. Components are Shimano Saint DH, Hadley hubs, Chris King headset. Brakes are strong, no frame damage, and drivetrain is in good working order. There's a few cosmetic scrapes here and there, but no scrapes or damage to fork stanchions. No oil leaks or seepage from either suspension piece.
Compared to a modern enduro bike, the DHR feels notably shorter in the back, and I'd estimate its head angle is a little bit steeper, about 65 degrees. It feels easy to jump and manual, and it's great as a park bike for playing around and having fun. It descends pretty well, but look elsewhere if you want a long wheelbase or racing geometry. I'm 6 foot and 165 pounds, and suspension feels fantastic, though it would fit you better if you were closer to 5'8" to 5'11". If you're heavier than me, I'd be happy to include a stiffer spring for the the fork as well!
Ultimately, this bike is fun, very well built, and can definitely still shred. Would recommend as a park bike.

Video: YouTube Engineer Creates Homemade Chainless Drive Bicycle
This isn't new; many bikes in the early 1900's were built with driveshafts like these. The bicycle chain was invented as an improvement over these 'clunky' driveshafts :-)
