Sep 6, 2021Santa Cruz Bronson C
$2000 USDHere I have for sale my 2016 Santa Cruz Bronson C. I've had this bike for about 3 years now and it's served me well, but it's time for an upgrade. This bike was rode multiple times a week for in the first year of ownership and then only a few times a month after that. I rode it primarily in soft loamy dirt in Santa Cruz with some less frequent trips to the Sierras which is much more rocky and sandy. Please look at the pictures for the damage to the frame. It is pretty much only cosmetic damage and the chip in the downtube was already on the bike when I got it. There is a small scratch on the fork (see picture) but it is right at the top of the stanchion so it shouldn't hurt the seals too bad. The fork also has 3 volume spacers and I have a couple more in my garage and I'll throw them in if I can find them. The rear shock leaks oil and definitely needs a rebuild, but I wasn't able to do it myself. The stanchion on the shock is in good condition and I haven't seen any scratches.
The brakes are a bit of a funny situation: I had the front lever replaced about 2 years ago to a Sram Guide RS but the caliper is still the original Guide RSC. The rear brake lever is the original Guide RSC which has a problem where the lever locks out when it gets too hot due to a bad seal. Sram offers replacements under warranty for this, but since I am not the original owner I can't get them. I would recommend getting a new brake lever if you live in a hotter area, but it works just fine if the weather is cooler. The rear caliper was replaced with a newer Guide RS.
The wheels are in decent condition and are tubeless. I dented the rear one about 6 months ago but since they're aluminum I just bent it back and haven't had any issues since. The tires are about a year old but they haven't been ridden on too much so they still have some life in them.
The bike had a full service at a local Trek dealership in the beginning of July this year and was only ridden twice after that. The brakes and dropper post were bled, spokes were tensioned, tubeless sealant refilled, and drivetrain tuned along with a full cleaning and other minor adjustments. Everything is in good working order and the bike rides really smooth. Due to the condition and many miles I've put on it I'm asking for a lower price than other similar bikes you'll find here, and I am willing to drive a few hours in any direction around Fresno to deliver the bike. I would like to see this bike go to someone who will use and love it just as much as I did :)
