My experience with Kuat is simply terrible. The locking mechanism for the wheels routinely failed, and either the front or rear of my bike would bounce out of the tray and onto the road. Needless to say I returned the bunch of cack right away. Have been running Thule rood racks that’s been good but Lifting my bikes up and down and the constant wind noise is getting tiresome, and I’ve have one close shave where I nearly pulled into my buildings garage with them on top of the car. Could have been an expensive and embarrassing mistake. I’ll be changing cars again and am thinking of going to the 1up hitch rack and selling the Thules to fund it.

@Chuckolicious: awesome that’s my stomping grounds. Glad you had fun. Planning to rent from Cynergy too in May for a weekend to rip it round the Malibu / westridge / Mandeville area that you rode, and also Mount Wilson. Like you id like to try it without the main battery and just the range extender (if that’s possible, I’ve read a shop has to drop the motor for you in order to get the battery out, and I doubt Cynergy would do that on their rentals.)

@Chuckolicious: did you do the Specialized Simi Valley demo day a few weeks ago or did manage to ride with a local shop? The Soecialized van with ebikes was held up in Arizona so they didn’t have them there for the demo day that I went to. Literally everyone who went were looking to ride the SL!! I managed to get a quick run on Curtis’ personal SL and it rocked. Definitely on my shortlist but really wanted to try it out for a bit longer before I make my decision - particularly on more DH stuff and ideally at a bike park too. It needs to be a one quiver bike for me so I want to be damn sure I’ll enjoy it wherever I go.

Also, @ the Cannondale Jekyll Lefty rider - left handed salute to you, you must be one damn sexy ass mo-fo... if I had of made it to opening weekend like I had planned to there could have been like, TWO of us!!
