The original off-road dirt tourer. Whether your ambitions are limited to a long weekend exploring the ATV trails and forest roads surrounding Calabogie, or if you dream of completing the Tour Divide, the ECR is designed for your next adventure Professionally maintained, this bike was recently tuned up and includes brand new chain and shifter/brake cables. This is a custom build, featuring: A 1x11 drivetrain including a 36 tooth Raceface Aeffect crankset and a SunRace 11-42t cassette with maybe 400km total. Dependable SLX 11 speed derailleur and (new) shifter. Classic and easy to service Avid BB7 mechanical brakes with 180mm rotors. Velocity Dually rims hand built by Tall Tree Cycles. The rear rim is laced with a XT hub. The front is the bike’s pièce de résistance, and features a sturdy Schmidt SON 28 dynamo hub connected to a Tout Terrain Plug III. The Plug III is a USB port embedded as part of the bike’s headset. It is by far the cleanest means to draw power from the dynamo hub, as all the electronic components are hidden within the steerer tube. Other: Maxxis Chronicle 29x3.0 tires with maybe 400km. Tires are set up tubeless with fresh sealant and includes two spare tubes. Uncut Jones H-bar handlebar with Jones Kraton H-grips. Brand new WTB saddle. The frame itself is in good condition. Normal wear and tear as one would expect from a bikepacking rig. But no dents or dings. The steel frame was ED coated from the factory to prevent rust. The fork steerer is uncut. The bike is ready for adventure, and includes everything pictured. An ECR-specific framebag (designed and manufactured by Revelate); Salsa Anything Cages, waterproof bags and straps); Revelate Jerrycan top tube bag, and a feed bag/bottle holder. Shimano clipless pedals included. Just strap a couple of dry bags to the handlebars and seatpost and go. I’ll include the original Surly O.D. crankset and a front derailleur (no shifter) if you want to convert it back to a 2x drivetrain.
