For sale I have a retro 1992 58 cm Cannondale 2.8 Aluminium Series Racing 1000 Road Bike. In its day this was the highest spec racing bike offered by Cannondale. Extremely light at just over 9kg. Having cross checked the serial number it was manufactured in February 1992 Up until a few years ago i was using this as a daily driver, when i decided to strip her down for a restoration project (which sadly never amassed). I now require some garage space back. Bearing in mind this bike is now over 24 years old it has got some minor damage. There are paint chips and scrapes all over the frame and forks and an extremely small indentation on the cross bar and could do with a good degrease and clean. As the frame and wheels are aluminium there is no rust whatsoever. The wheel set is the original Mavic Open 4-CD clad in a more modern Continental Ultrasport 700x23c tyre, and both front and rear run smooth and true. At some point before my ownership it has been given upgrades which include Cinelli Eubios drop handlebars, Lightweight seat post with gel saddle and shimano wheel skewers. It has an 8 speed Shimano Hyperglide Cassette (most probably 105, but cannot be certain) It has been converted from a frame shifters to Shimano 105 STi brake lever shifters. (this can easily be reversed for the more authentic feel) and had Shimano 105 brakes and cranks, and a Shimano 600 rear mech. This is an EXTREMELY RARE BIKE in what i say is relatively good condition for its age. DO NOT CONTACT ME EXPECTING A PRISTINE / MINT CONDITION BIKE!!! ITS NOT!!!
