Hey guys-
I have recently realized I want to go 1x9 on my XC 29er hardtail. I currently have a 2x9 setup (was 3x9, took off the top ring and put on a bashguard), and I plan to go 1x10 in the future.
I've been looking at the e.thirteen XCX+ chainguides, primarily because I've heard that they are good and they're also the only XC guides I know of. The guides list a 33t chainring as the recommended minimum for all of the XCX+ guides (although they do say it is possible under certain circumstances to run a 32). I am running a 32-22 crank now, and would be fine putting on the 32t with a 1x9 but don't want to buy a new 9 speed chainring that fits the guide if I'm going to go 1x10 in the near future, as 9 and 10 speed components don't transition.
Does anyone know if it actually is possible to run a 32t with these guides?
Thanks,
Max
