Hi MTB Bikers,
I just wanted to send you a message about this nasty weed called puncturevine. We're seeing a big explosion of it in the county and are trying to get the word out to everyone to
keep an eye out for it and help us get rid of it. I've attached a photo for your viewing. One of the ways it is carried around is on our tires - which the very sharp seed heads poke into. Since you have connections with fellow trail users - I thought this information might be especially helpful.
If you think you can ID this plant, we encourage everyone to report it by calling 1-800-INVADER or contacting this website
HERE If possible -
pull it AND bag it for disposal. Use allot of caution though - the seed heads are very sharp and will puncture hands, bike tires, shoes, dog paws, etc. When removing seed heads, please bag them and throw them away - as opposed to cursing at them! (Trust me - this will be your first inclination.)
Thanks for helping get the word out!
Jordan Kim
