Rollers and berms, rollers and berms - who doesn't love them? Thanks to our friends at GMC, the Whistler Mountain Bike Park now has an impressive collection of these mounds of dirt at the Whistler Village Gondola mid-station. What better way to kick off the recently opened masterpiece than having a Pumptrack Challenge with the fastest riders in the area?
Not only was the track as fresh as could be, it was also a chance for local rippers to qualify for the Ultimate Pumptrack Challenge during Crankworx. Riders took three laps, the best of which counted as their shot at qualifying for the big stage.
Despite the chance of qualifying for the biggest festival in the sport, all the racers were out for a good time and mood was chill. Just out for a rip, are ya bud? Railing it. There was a strong female field out on Saturday. Good to see the girls showing everyone how its done! For those about to rock, we salute you. The three run format gave riders lots of opportunities for rest as well as chances to check out the competition. The number one plate goes to one of the many groms out there smashing laps on Saturday. Thanks to all of the volunteers for keeping it 'G' at every event. I spy Tupac.
