Welcome to the FISE World Tour stop at Montpellier, France. We've got some photo re-cap off all the ups and downs from the Thursday main MTB event where Mother Nature dacided who will be on the podium. Enjoy:
Welcome to FISE Montpellier 2015, let us be your guide in this lovely city blazed in French sun.
When Mother Nature stands in the way, nothing can help. FISE MTB Quallies were in danger of high winds but it was only a breeze compared to the wind that kicked up during finals.
Let's begin the qualification madness with this Italian stallion: Torquato Testa's whip.
Reece Wallace was shipped to us straight from Whistler, Canada.
Antoine Bizet needs no introduction with his entry level tricks like this fronflip.
Ray and Tom repping the other part of the World at FISE. It's good to see young USA and Canadian riders among the Europeans at FMB stops this year.
Ray George's dumped tricks are plain style. If you need a role model in steez, follow him.
Matt Jones has some good work under his belt when it comes to the super flips. His private backyard is paying off!
Brayden Barrett-Hay is back and strong after the off-season just as his 360 whip game.
Montpellier was not kind for UK riders and Mr. Reynolds learned that the hard way. Still his 360 in these weather conditions was insane.
Ray George once again Ray proves that NorCal steez is among the best.
The younger generation getting inspired.
It was definitely not Sam's FISE but we know winds won't stop him from the night madness that will occur.
Reece Wallace is well known for going big in his homeland but here in France, wind stopped his airtime pleasure.
CP Gang's Bienvenido Aguado knows how to enjoy a moment.
Peter Henke did double backies in training and then he slipped his luck on the big jumps. Next time Peter.
Look at that crowd! Let the finals begin as the whole comp was shortened due to a weather forecast, finals and qualis were made in one day only.
Performing in front of your local people is always the best feeling. Yannick knew how to cheer them up big time!
Tom van Steenbergen with his Canadian old timers like this suicide no hander.
Diego Caverzasi is still new in the game but he has already proved himself in some tough contests.
Max was keeping it technical like always.
Sand storm during the dirt competition is a bit too da rude.
Daryl killed the 360 tuck no hander game with the way he keeps it like forever during the air time.
Mr. Vencl repping the Czech riders classic look and bag of tricks. Just kidding, this man is for sure able to place big just like he showed off in Vienna.
Cleanlander with a clean 360 whip on the last set. Lack of mid tricks didn't get the Swede on the top steps this year.
Wind was picking up, so breaks between runs were simply horrible.
Local Frenchie knew that only big tricks from the step-down will bring attention to him in the finals. Yannick was the only one to pull a clean whip here.
CP Gang's Mr. Silva knows how to turn heads!
Taking pro life into rafting, kayaking, riding or partying. Adolf's CV is stacked for sure!
Daryl caught enjoying the French healthcare.
What goes up, must come down.
360 tuck no hander with some French flare.
Tomas keeping heads up as the local shredder. 4th place for this crazy Frenchman.
Tommy G was not happy about his runs that yet gave him a solid 5th spot. This Belgian is definitely looking for more to come!
Godziek's FMX style is still running wild in his runs. Extended double grabs like this are what we are looking for!
Mehdi is still fighting among the best in the world with his consequent French style spiced up with tricks like this backflip tuck no hander from the stepdown.
Straight from the Boppard forests, Amir Kabbani made comeback of the year with his solid run that gave him the win.
Congratulations to Amir Kabbani for the 1st win of the season in such a big contest! Cheers man!
Not sure what it is about slopestyle and dirt jumping, i just can't get into it and don't find it interesting. What they are doing is amazing and requires great skill but i still don't get excited by it.
Yet the same people do the same tricks on a mountain bike and I'm enthralled.
