He's a sick rider, but it also seemed that he's always landing on butter tranny. I'd say it's more slopestyle than freeride. I'd love to see a bmx bike get into a steep, loose chute! Hah.

yeah its all about bmx..i have been converted. thank you god you have shown me the way to the all mighty bmx. i locked up the mtb yesterday.
I dh and bmx, theres no need to be so judge mental on a certain discipline of biking, its all fun, except for road biking.

This is a kick in the teeth for mtbing as the whole point of freeride and slopestyle is that big bmx style tricks are being 'taken to the mountains' and done on terrain (supposedly) too rough for bmx's, instead of mountain bikers just doing the tricks bmxers were doing 5 years ago on dirt jumps. This bmxer riding a freeride course so well takes the piss a bit...
I totally agree with you but in order to do that on BMX you have to be so smooth and just plain good which I am not thats why I ride a Demo 9 cause i need all the plush I can get, and a guy like this is not something you see every day hence the reason it's VOD.
Less talented than the rider in the video? 99% of the riders on Pinkbike are less talented then him.

i read "bmx freeride" and thought what ever then i watched it and thought "shit why waste ur money on a full sus"...
its a little hard to call that freeride. sure, there were northshore ladders and drops, but all the landings and junk were decently groomed. I'm pretty sure you're not gonna see a bmx rider go 70 km/h through rock gardens or drop 30 feet to sand. He's a great rider with ridiculous talent, mad respect, but most of that was djing anyways.
Are you saying the only trails you have ever ridden have been perfectly groomed slopestyle courses? Last time I checked not every gnarly-ass world cup course is poorly maintained either. I mean NO disrespect to the rider/vid though, that was downright amazing, but I think what bikelikeyouownit meant was just what he said, it's going to be a long time before bmx replaces full sus as no one is able to rip down a technical trail on a bmx regardless of the brake being present or not.
lets see you maintain a rock garden. also, last time i checked sand wasent maintanable either.
you buy a dually to have some forgivness out in real terrain no bmx could handle. sure this guy is nuts, he's better then me, but you could probly hit those drops on a skateboard there so forgiving.

HA!! B.S. dude, that tranny was like 50ft tall for a 15-20ft drop, actually you can't even call that a drop, it was more like a step down. it was a decent vid. liked that styled out slow whip before the double (which is prob. alot easier than on mtb.) bmx=kiddy bikes tho
You have no respect for BMX. Without BMX, there would be no mtb. Some of the forefathers of mtb started on bmx. Ritchey Schley, Eric Carter, Darren Berrecloth, they all started on "kiddy bikes". BMXers were hucking 20 feet back in the 70s while mtb was still in it's infancy.

HOLD IT! I'm not dissin' bmx i'm just saying that bmx bikes are a lot smaller than 26's which makes them easier to whip around and do crazy shit with. Also, yeah all those people started out on bmx bikes but they were a lot younger, was your first bike a 26? They all ride mountain bikes because it's a natural size progression. you also can't call those guys forefathers, people like Gary Fisher, Alan Bonds and Charlie Kelly are the "forefathers" of mountainbiking

I have rode BMX for more than 20 years...now I'm starting to build a BLACK MARKET RIOT and have since sold my 20" Volume but I know where my roots began and I will never forget where it all started. Never forget...ride hard...20" or 26"...who cares? Stay true and always have fun!!!
You can't just buy into BMX. Props? Hah. That is literally the best VOD I have seen, period. It's about bikes and talent. Can't just buy into it. He could be riding a huffy and just kill it. I love it!!
