2006 Specialized Allez E5 52cm

Selling my 2006 Allez road bike. I really don’t know what model it originally was (Comp, Pro, Elite or Expert?), but it has the Columbus E5 Aerotec tubes with carbon seat stays, which was featured on the best Allez models of 2005 and 2006. This is the alloy on which one notorious pro racer won the World’s road race in 2002!

The bike is well equipped with new or near-new top-drawer components, including a color-coordinated Microshift Arsis groupset that performs very well indeed and is a nice change from all the Shimano and Campy stuff. The cockpit includes Easton EC-90 handlebars, EA-90 stem, and a very lightweight Use Alien seat post. The wheels are superbly polished Dura Ace 7800 clinchers, with brand new Michelin Pro4 tires.

This bike really flies – as it is it weights around 17 pounds, but it’s the frame material and geometry that give it this really lively feel. I rode and raced a lot of bikes over the past 25 years, and this is definitely one of the “peppiest” ever. I put about 2,500 km on it since it was rebuilt, and the wheels were upgraded last month. The only noteworthy defect on the frame is a fairly large paint chip on the seat tube – the previous owner explained that it happened when the rear wheels picked up some road debris and projected it on the seat tube. It is purely cosmetic, and could probably be touched up with the correct paint. Other than that the frame is perfect. The bike comes with two water bottle cages, but the pedals and the computer are not included.

NOTE: I would rather NOT ship this bike - local pick up would be much easier; however, if absolutely necessary, I will ship at cost, only within Canada or the US. Be aware that packing and shipping costs can easily reach $250 for far away domestic or US destinations.
