2010 Commencal Absolut Ti 4x
I Bought this bike from Dan Atherton in 2011. It was his race bike for the 4x World Cup (There was one back then!) though it only saw a few races as that was the year Dan broke his neck.
I bought the bike wanting to use it for some pump track fun but mostly trail riding and so I have added a few parts and had the suspension tuned at TF Tuned to make it more of an all day machine.
Sized to suit 5'7" to 6' riders, it's Titanium so is lovely and light for the climbs but mostly the slack geometry is killer on the down hills, more like what modern AM Hardtails are moving towards. Its a very sharp machine that just loves to take rail berms and to the air .
Spec is as follows:
Frame : Commencal Absolut Ti Long - 2010 Limited Edition
Fork: Fox 831, Custom Tuned by TF Tuned - Extended to 110mm travel
Brakes: Shimano XTR Front & Rear
Gears: 9 Speed SRAM Cassette, Saint Shifter and Rear Mech, Single Front Ring with E13 Chain Device
Cranks: Shimano Saint
Front Wheel: XT Hub & Rim - Recently re-spoked and trued
Rear Wheel: Chris King Hub on Mavix EX371 Rim - Indestructible Combo!
Seatpost : Thompson Elite - Lay-Back Post
Finishing Kit: Saddle, Bars, Grips, Stem - Atherton Pro Series by Shimano
Headset: Chris King
The bike has been used for trail riding and has a few scrapes on the Atherton Racing Stickers but no actual damage to the frame or fork. All parts are working in tip top condition
