Extremely well suited for steep climbs and descents 6 inch (160mm) suspension is very well behaved on the roads. High-tech carbon frame is rugged, lightweight and ready for anything you can dish out. Fox 36 TALAS RLC is the perfect complement to the frame, and is tied together with a Chris King 1.5 InSet Headset.

Purchased frame, fork and headset new in 2012 from Cambria Bicycle Outfitter. Prior to building installed FrameSkin on the bike (look closely at the photos). Built and ridden from the fall of 2012 through the spring of 2014. During that time, I upgraded the rear shock to a Cane Creek DB Air CS (see my other items for sale) so the Fox RP23 has very low hours. The frame is in terrific shape, and only has a few very superficial scrapes on the top tube, left side near the seat post (see close up photo). Frame Skin is slightly peeling in a spot- purely cosmetic- replace it or just ride it as is- (www.frameskin.com). Rear triangle is in great shape with a Quick Release rear tire. I would grade the frame overall as a 9/10.

Fox 36 is Factory Series Talas (Travel Adjustable Linear Air Spring) and adjustable from 160mm to 120mm with a quick twist of the lever. Additionally it is the RLC version (has adjustments for Rebound, Lock-out, and Compression). The axle is a 20mm. The steer tube is Tapered and just under 8” in length, with a star nut installed. There are some very cosmetic scuffs on the lower tube (pictured) and a few very cosmetic nicks in the stanchion (pictured). Fork holds air perfectly and does not leak oil. I would grade the fork as 7/10.
Also Included and pictured are the manuals, shock pump, extra frame protection, Hope seat clamp and tuning guide.

There are three key aspects to Santa Cruz’s carbon fiber process that differentiate it from other builders:
One piece lay-up and curing
By laying up and curing the entire front triangle as a single piece, instead of assembling or bonding pieces together during the process, less material can be used to achieve the same end. Suspension pivots, disc mounts and the ISCG05 tabs are all molded into the frame in this process. Additionally, they overbuilt things in critical areas. The underside of the downtube features five layers of UD fiber, two of aramid fiber, and one of 3k weave, in order to thrive in sharp and pointy environments. The chainstays also benefit from extra layers of material. These all serve as added insurance in rocky terrain.
Continuing fibers around tube junctions
One piece lay-up and molding allows the use of continuous fibers throughout the frame, meaning the structure can more widely distribute loads and absorb impact energy.

Net shape lay-up and fiber compaction
The proprietary manufacturing process allows precise control on both the outside and inside frame shape while compacting the laminate layers, which in turn results in superior stiffness and strength while eliminating excess material.

They don't have any fancy acronyms for this, but it is unique - nobody else is making carbon fiber mountain bikes this way at this time. The results are pretty enough that we Santa Cruz is proud to show off what the insides of the frames look like. You'd be surprised what you might find inside some of the other frames out there...
