2003 Santa Cruz Heckler, Hand-Built Frame

California hand-built Santa Cruz Heckler frame with a polished rear triangle and metallic red front end. Even has a bottle opener forged into the rear wheel drop-out for those beers at the end of a long ride. This is not an offshore sourced or factory built frame. Great detailing can be seen in the head tube gussets, rear dropouts and the replaceable deraileur hanger.

The brakes are Hope hydraulics (c/w maintenance manual) which have great feel, modulation & power. The front is a 4 piston caliper, with braided hose and 200mm rotor. This has enough stopping power for any trail on the North Shore. If you are not familiar with Hope products check out http://www.hopetech.com/ Most companies don't spec these brakes because they are trying to keep the price point down, but once you've tried them you know what a brake should feel like and the extra bucks are worth it.

The front shock is a Marzocchi Bomber with 20mm axel and trick "quick" release mech for any trail side flat repairs. Plush bottomless ride with no flex.
The rear shock is a 5th Element loaded with a 350 lb spring. Comes with a maintenance manual which describes the settings to dial-in the ride to your weight and riding style in 5 quick steps. Both shocks have been recently serviced.

XTR deraileur, XT shifters, XT hubs, Mavic rims, Thomson Elite Seatpost, Race Face handle bars, FSA headset, Shimano M545 semi-plat clipless pedals. Can substitute a set of flat pedals if preferred.
This is a great all-mountain style bike that has been very well taken care of and is in great shape. Looks even better up close.
