The Skyeye SK-BB109 Bottom Bracket has been developed with European, in particular British weather conditions in mind.
It has new super sealed bearing cartridges to deal with wet gritty winter conditions and dry dusty conditions that our bikes have to deal with. (especially Mountain Bikes)

They have been tested & punished by ourselves for many months now, over winter 2013/14 and at numerous trail centres throughout England & Wales.
We are very pleased with the way that they have stood up to this treatment and feel that it is now time to offer them to you........

This Bottom Bracket to compatible with 68/73mm BB shell and with both Shimano HTII & Sram GXP via the aluminium adapter shim which is supplied F.O.C. with each B.B. + 2x Spacers.

Please Note: This Bottom Bracket is NOT suitable for use with Truvativ Stylo Cranksets due to them having a shorter Axle.

Road bike cranksets tend to have a slightly shorter axle due to the vast majority of brands having a 68mm BB shell rather than a 73mm shell. With this in mind please compare the cup width of our BB (width of both L & R cups are 12.1mm) to that of the brand that is currently installed on your bike. A big difference in cup width may make it difficult to correctly install the non driveside crank arm. It may be worth checking how much of the axle protrudes from the non driveside BB cup, from this you should be able to judge whether or not you will have enough axle available to you if indeed our BB cup is wider that your current one.

SRAM GXP USERS..... Please ensure that the adapter shim is inserted into the correct BB Cup (non drive side) LEFT. Installing your crank set with the adapter shim in the wrong cup may result in damage to the BB.
You will find the shim (silver) located in the clear spacing tube.
When installing any non SRAM BB, please note that tightening the pre-tension bolt to SRAMs suggested settings may result in the non SRAM BB being over tightened due to cup width variations and can result in the premature BB failure. Please only tighten to feel!

HTII USERS.....

You will find a shim (silver) located in the clear spacing tube, you will not need to use this shim, it is only required for GXP conversion.

The GXP adapter shim supplied with the BB just requires firmly inserting to the non driveside cup from the rear or inboard side of the cup.
The alloy cups are slightly wider than conventional HTII & GXP BB Cups due to oversized bearings being utilised for product longevity & integrity. However, this simply means that you can use one less spacer, or even none at all if this suits your drivetrain configuration. (Please do NOT JET/PRESSURE WASH this bottom bracket or any other bearing dependant parts of your bike)
