Commencal Meta AM, BOS suspension, Custom Build, Large

Regrettably I am putting my beloved Commencal Meta AM up for sale.

I custom built the bike up about 2 and a half years ago now with all new parts (with the exception of the forks and shock which were bought second hand). The bike is stunning to look at (the pictures really don’t do it justice – you need to see it in the flesh) and I often got comments while out on the trails about how it looks like a stock build because of how well all the parts go together!

As the majority of the parts were bought new, I can provide copies of receipts if you wish (and if I can find them all!), so any remaining warranties will be applicable to the new owner.

There are some scratches and scuffs here and there, as you’d expect from a used bike of this type, but it is in a great condition and has been well looked after. I have tried to capture any damage as best as I can in the photos.

All the parts have been meticulously looked after and serviced where possible. I had the rear shock fully serviced and custom tuned for the frame by Loco Tuning about a year ago, and the forks were fully serviced by J-Tech Suspension LTD at the same time (I have done basic servicing/oil changing myself since the full services). The bike has seen little usage for the past year, approx 10 day long rides, but I have replaced some of the more worn out parts before putting the bike up for sale. The seat post was serviced by Jungle Products LTD about 6 months ago under warranty and hasn’t been used since the service. The frame does not have any dents or cracks in it, only cosmetic scratches/chips to the paintwork which I have tried to capture in the photos.

Here’s a quick rundown on the condition of various parts on the bike:

The transmission; the cassette and chain have seen less than 100 miles since they were last replaced, and aren’t showing any signs of wear. The small chainring is the original but isn’t showing much wear bar some of the anodizing being worn off (I didn’t use it much). The large chainring and bottom bracket are brand new. Both mechs work great, the front is in excellent condition, and the rear has a few cosmetic scratches on it. The mech hanger has been replaced once, due to a crash, with a North Shore Billet one. Both gear cables are brand new and the front outer cable is brand new.

The frame bearings seem ok, however they didn’t feel the smoothest even when new (I have looked at a 2015 Commencal Meta SX frame recently in a shop and the bearings in that feel the same as the bearings in this bike). The main pivot bearings were replaced about one year ago. There is some slight heel rub on the drive side chainstay.

For the wheels; the hubs were serviced about 4 months ago. The bearings were re-greased and the freehub was replaced under warranty by Hope as the original had cracked. The rims are in great condition with no dents, buckles, or flat spots, but they have a few cosmetic scratches. The wheels are set up tubeless with Stans tape and sealant, and they are perfectly straight and true. I have just replaced the rim decals with brand new custom colour matched decals from Slik Graphics.

Suspension; The shock, fork, and seat post are in great condition, and all the seals are great too. I have just replaced the shock bushings with low friction bushings from TFTuned (which are blue and happen to match the frame very well!). The seat post has a brand new cable and remote fitted. There are no marks on the stanchions of the forks, there are some slight scratches on the lowers though. Again, I have just replaced the fork decals with brand new custom colour matched decals from Slik Graphics.

Lastly, the brakes are working great but they do have a bit of cosmetic damage. The levers are straight and the reach adjusts work perfectly. The hoses on the brakes have been replaced recently, and they were fully bled at the same time. The discs and brake pads are brand new.


The frame size is a Large (approx 19”) and according to Commencal the bike is suited to anyone from 5’10” upwards.

Shifters: Shimano SLX M670 I-Spec .
Front mech: Shimano SLX M676 direct mount.
Rear mech: Shimano SLX M675 Shadow +, SGS (long cage) – (Brand new jockey wheels).
Cassette: Shimano SLX HG81, 11-36t.
Crankset: Shimano SLX M675, 38-26t, 175mm – (Brand new 38t chainring).
Bottom bracket: Shimano BB71-41A press fit – Brand new.
Chainguide: MRP 2x, ISCG 05.
Chain: KMC X10SL.

Bars: Answer ProTaper DH, Custom Chaos colour, 1” rise, 720mm width.
Stem: Thomson Elite X4 70mm.
Grips: ODI/SDG Hansolo lock-on.
Seat clamp: Thomson 34.9mm.
Seat post: KS LEV 150 – (Brand new remote).
Saddle: Specialized Body Geometry Henge Comp.

Rims: Stans ZTR Flow, 32h.
Hubs: Hope Pro 2 Evo, 20mm front, 12x142 rear – (Brand new free hub).
Spokes: DT Swiss
Tyres: Specialized Eskar Control 2Bliss, 26 x 2.3, setup tubeless.

Pedals NOT INCLUDED, but the bike will come with pad spacers and a bleed block for the brakes, a Commencal neoprene shock protector, and Commencal chainstsay protectors.



Viewings of the bike are welcome. I can meet in certain places in the Lancashire or Merseyside areas.

I don’t want any swaps or trades please.
