For sale is my much loved but very well used Commencal Meta SX 2012 mountain bike. I am selling as it needs some TLC and I have recently purchased a new Commencal Meta (they're excellent bikes!).

If you google 'Commencal Meta SX 2012 Review' the Bike Radar review is a great place to read a review and see the spec for my bike check this Bike Radar review out.

The bike was purchased in 2012 for £3500 and has been well loved, it has been to the Alps for a few summer trips and all over the UK to ride at pretty much every trail centre in the UK. The bike is a fantastic enduro bike capable of handling difficult technical DH runs and it's not too bad on XC climbs either.

The bike has been very heavily used (ridden every week off road for the last four years) and as such it is no longer in good working order. The frame is in good condition and there are no structural issues, but there are a number of scratches and chips which come from rock strikes etc over the years. In addition the front suspension, 2012 Fox Float 36 (160mm travel), is in need of a significant service as it is currently very stiff and effectively not working (I haven't been using the bike for the last 6 months) and the rebound cap on top of the fork has unfortunately snapped off and a replacement will need to be ordered. The rear shock, Fox Float, is in better condition and works well but could do with a service too. Similarly the Rockshox Reverb dropper post has seen better days and could do with a service, it has been bled a few times but it is certainly not smooth. I've bled the brakes and replaced the pads on the Formula RX brakes regularly, but they are now in need of a brake bleed and probably replacement pads again. The bearings throughout the frame are in varying states and some of them will need replacing and it could do with new gear cables and indexing again.

Basically, I want to make it clear that the bike is not in good working condition and so it would probably best suit someone who is looking for a project, it is a good bike in fact it picked up a lot of awards from magazines etc when it was released, but it is now in need of some repairs to bring it back to life.

As a result this is why I am offering the bike at a lower price than I would sell it for if it was in better condition. In other news i'll put some fresh Commencal grips on the bike, and if I can find the spare pair of Continental Rubber Queen tyres (26") I am happy to chuck those in as well. Also the bike appears without a chain in the photos, i took it off to give it an oil bath, it will have a chain when it is sold.

I am happy to answer questions from interested individuals and the bike can be viewed prior to purchase if needs be. All sales will be final and non-refundable. I am not looking to trade though might consider a swap for a a good quality DJ bike, but generally no trades.
