The TIME Skylon is a brand new frame from the French company for 2015. As their latest racing flagship, the Skylon boasts an impressive weight loss of 545g over their previous high end racing model, the ZXRS. However, not content to simply make something lighter, TIME built the Skylon to have 30% greater torsional rigidity and 45% greater bottom bracket rigidity than the ZXRS as well. It all adds up to deliver a bike that’s stiff when you need it to be, but also rides comfortable and smooth. Utilizing TIME’s strenuous RTM process (a manufacturing anomaly in an industry obsessed with mass production and minimal labor investment), the new Skylon is built from a single piece; a change from previous TIME models that had the rear triangle butted into the main frame. The TIME Skylon Frameset sports a new asymmetrical, monobloc chainstay constructed to increase rigidity and power transmission from hard working legs.
