Iron horse Sunday modernised and tuned, 650b/26”

So this has been an ongoing project for a while to get the most out of a legendary frame but I just never have time to ride!

Due to the head angle and bb mods and 650b fork you can run 650b wheels with no issues to geometry, just need the right tyre. I’ve been running a 2.35 Maxxis shorty but just about takes a 2.3 Mary on a wide rim. It is a LOT faster with bigger wheels and I’ve ridden them back to back but you do suffer with lack of mud clearance at the back.

Iron horse Sunday in Large, F7 link design with offset bushes, and upper bolt reduced in size to give extra offset. Lower link modified to take new size shocks.

Fox dhx RC4 custom tunes by J-tech for the frame and linkage rates.

Boxxer Teams, 650b wheel size, same length as the old 26” boxxers this frame was designed for so no real change.

2 degree offset headset, Gamut direct mount stem, Renthal bars

SLX brakes, only done a few rides with 203 Avid rotors

26” Hope front hub on Stans rims, Rear stans hub freshly built onto a chaos rim and ridden once. Currently got an old dirty dan front tyre and few ride old Magic Mary on the back but also comes with a new Hans Dampf for the rear for faster rolling.

Gone for slightly retro gears since they work and have a bit of the classic Sam Hill look of X9 drive and FSA cranks with an E13 device.

No play or movement in any pivots, no dents or dings in the frame even the usual fork bumper dents aren’t there and major issues with any parts for that matter!

Some of the parts are new, some have seen some use, all are working happily and she rides awesome!
