2018 Ibis Ripmo XL Blk. w/ Cane Creek DB CS and Orig Fox DPX2
This Ripmo was purchased May 2018, XO 1 build. I rode it until June 2019, total 250 hours with 100 hours on the Cane Creek. I'm 6' 4" and 190 lbs. Older rider, most rides at local Annadel park in Sonoma, with many wonderful rides in Tahoe area and a week in Squamish. Frame scratches can be seen in pictures, which are due to fall overs, especially on the granite in Tahoe. No hard crashes on this bike, hard enough to twist the bars a bit a couple of times. The bike never made a squeak or rattle ever, all bearings and bushings still fine, frame includes recently serviced BB w/new bearings. I feel very strongly that you shouldn't touch a pressed in bearing if it's fine and these are. The Cane Creek made a huge difference and I also felt running the fork at 170 was a improvement, although not as much as the shock. I'm including the original shock, during any necessary service of Cane C buyer has the Fox. Neither shock has been serviced. The Cane C is not in need of service, doesn't feel close to needing it, Fox could probably benefit from basic service, although it was working fine when I took it off. Cables are still in the frame to facilitate new build.
I'm selling this frame because it is too small for me. I wanted to get a Capre XXL when I bought it, they were unavailable for months, I was lucky to get the Ripmo at the time. I have switched over to a SB 150, yet to ride it, just pedaling around I feel confident that the problems I had with the Ripmo are solved on the Yeti. I do NOT recommend this frame for anyone much over 6'. The new designs with steep STA's are game changing geometries, and I think if you are pushing the seat up as high as I did, requires a longer bike than this. I realize Ibis says this frame will fit up to 6'6", I think they are very wrong. I can't emphasis enough what a huge difference a 76 deg STA makes in terms of center of gravity and need to have the front wheel more foreword.
Note, I can't get pictures uploaded, will email or text pictures to seriously interested buyers.
