2019 Trek Slash 9.8 (Upgrades)

Are you looking for one bike to handle all that modern trails can throw at you, look no further because the Trek Slash 9.8 is your answer! I have had the pleasure of riding this bike in all conditions and I can say it responsively and comfortably swallows up any trail you are on.

I have done well to take care of this bike as I have worked closely with a local bike shop all year long for continuing care and upkeep of the bike. I am able to produce the receipt for the bike if requested. Parts and frame have all been kept clean and constantly maintained. The SRAM Guide RS Brakes and Trek lock on grips are BRAND NEW as I own an aftermarket sets and had them installed when I first got the bike. I have also UPGRADED the contact points in the rear hub. The bike comes stock at 54 engagement points in the rear hub but I have purchased the pawls to improve connection points by 100% bring it to 108 contact points. The bike will also come with a Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5 inch tire. I am happy to sell the bike with the extra Bontrager SE 4 tire as well. With all these upgrades nothing else can possibly compare with the asking price

Treks ABP helps to always keep you in control by preventing the rear triangle from locking up and giving traction to the rear tire. The bontrager drop line post is very dependable and has never had any issues and comes with a well designed lever. For added convenience the 160mm travel Fox 36 comes with a lockout so you can swap ride styles on the go with an easier climb and a quick change back to push travel while decending. 160mm of fork travel really adds to comfort and stability while riding. The modern drive train system comes with SRAM GX Eagle. The 1 x 12 system gives plenty of range to accommodate different inclines in the terrain.

The Slash 9.8 comes with a lightweight carbon frame and seat stays. The chain stays are aluminum for strength and durability. The carbon rims are a nice addition that not many other bikes will come with in this price point. They offer rigidity and dampening on the trails. The rims are also currently set up Tubeless. The mino link system is very useful. Quickly changing the link around can give you a stiffer more aggressive feel or a slacker more stable feeling in the geometry of the bike. They Slash frame is a designated 29er bike but can accommodate a wide range of tire widths. The Rockshox Deluxe RT3 rear suspension piece has a 3 position dampener allowing you to gain full efficiency when climbing, a comfortable midpoint pedal mode for trail riding, or full open so you can absorb the hits with all 150mm of travel the frame is capable of.

I also have a set of Deity TMac Pedals that can be worked into the price if you are needing a set of pedals as well
