Here we have my Morewood Makulu Downhill DH Mountain Bike. This is a dream build with massive spec. I built it up from new. This bike is a Dirt 100 winner. Unfortunately I'm not using it anymore and its gathering dust and deserves a new owner. This has been an incredible bike and will serve its next owner well. Read the summary from Dirt 100 below. Suspension has been properly serviced and maintained. Bos suspension is extremely reliable. Comes with everything listed and as per photos. No scratches on stanchions. This is a stunning bike and turns heads everywhere you go. Buyer can pay by PayPal but would prefer cash on collection. Collection preferred but can deliver using SendBike for £35. Difficult to price so open to offers.

Here is a summary from Steve Jones from Dirt 100 magazine:

There is something about this frameset that sets it apart from its rivals, whether it’s down to the design of the frame and its linkage or the tuned factory BOS suspension, it’s hard to say. But what is clear when you mount the Makulu is that it is different from anything you’ve ridden before, the suspension truly isolates the rider from the ground in a way which at first is almost disarming. But it doesn’t take long to get used to floating over the trail, and with the terrain posing no threat to the Makulu it only leaves you to do one thing – go faster!

The Morewood’s amazing rear suspension is well matched by good sizing and geometry meaning this is a much sought after frameset and one that the Dirt staff have not wanted to give back!

It’s a tough call, but if we had to say which DH bike has the best suspension then the Makulu would be our choice.

From experimenting with other shocks it is clear that the linkage, which is driven by the single pivot swingarm, plays a considerable part in the performance, but stick a BOS shock in there and you’ve got a truly amazing package. The two products bring out the best of each other, a match made in heaven if ever there was one. If you then go and stick a pair of BOS forks up front you won’t ever be able to blame your suspension, it’s perfectly balanced and offers all the grip and composure that you’ll ever need. Luckily the rest of the design doesn’t let the side down either, you get great geometry and over the years this bike has proven to be one of the most reliable.

Off–the–shelf performance like this doesn’t come around every day.
