I built up this wheel set for my wife's Camber 29. She noticed more confidence right away from the larger contact patch of each wheel. 27+ is very close to the same circumference as a 29x 2.0 tire.
Front rim is 45 mm wide external, 40 inside. Velocity rims
Rear is 35 mm external, 30 mm inside. Hand built tough!
Hubs are Roval front, American Classic rear.
Her frame & fork could accommodate 2.8 tires, or even a 3.0 on the front.
Mountain biking gets more fun with increased confidence. Her second ride on this setup was at Deer Valley, and she was following me on the black diamond trails, even catching a little air on Tsunami!
