Are you a first responder who wants to spend your summer on a mountain bike? We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our Bike Patrol crew.

Members of Bike Patrol are responsible for keeping our guests safe on the mountain. Their daily tasks include completing set-up in the morning before guests are on the hill, performing run checks, accident handling, administering first aid, promoting and creating a safe environment for guests and employees, mountain sweeps, and other rescue services. They are the first to ride on the trails and the last off them daily.

Accountabilities:

- Provide the highest possible acceptable standard of pre-hospital care and rescue services for our guests and employees as required by the company.
- Work and communicate effectively with other groups such as K.S.A.R., BC Ambulance, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Fire Department, etc.
- Ensure proper signage is appropriately placed and maintained according to industry and company standards.
- Learn and complete morning Pre-Opening Mountain Set-Up routes and procedures as outlined and directed.
- Maintain all signage and closures as required and directed.
- Learn and complete all evening sweep routes as outlined and directed.
- Participate in manual lift evacuations when required as directed.

Ideal Candidates:

- Current 80+ hr. First Aid Certificate or EMALB EMR/PCP.
- Current CPR-C Certificate.
- High level of physical fitness and free of injury with the ability to carry a pack with first aid gear daily.
- The physical class for this role is Heavy Work (H) – classified as exerting 20+ kg of strength occasionally or frequently, or 10 to 20 kg of strength constantly to move objects. Heavy work involves constantly walking, standing, bending, and crouching.
- Adequate mountain biking ability to ride downhill-style trails and carry equipment other than a backpack.
- Self-motivated and able to work productively with limited supervision and under the direction of the Patrol Director, Supervisors, Lead Hands and Senior Patrollers.
- Able to and prepared to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of mountain resort Risk Management.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to always take direction positively from Risk Management Safety Director, Patrol Director, and Patrol Supervisors.
- PEAK Advanced Protocols an asset.
- PMBIA certifications an asset.
- Knowledge of the Sun Peaks area is an asset.
