I picked up this bike in BuySell last December for desert riding in SoAZ. After a 10-mi dirt road test ride I stripped it down and built it up using my own parts including drive, brakes and wheels. Eighteen days of blissful bikepacking later (AZ Peace Trail, el Camino del Diablo), I'm moving on and unfortunately won't have the space for this sweet little trooper. So I've built it back up for sale, a little better than the way I bought it.

SunRingle Duroc 50/Surly hub boost wheels, freshly taped and set up tubeless – two very minor dings in the rear rim don’t seem an issue
29 x 3.0 DHF front with 50% life left; 29 x 2.8 Terrene McFly rear also at 50%
XO 175mm crank/BB – bearings feel good
Recently new: SRAM 12-sp drive; XO shifter, LX derailleuer, XO cassette, SRAM chain
Recently new: SRAM Guide brakes, 180 rotors
Command Post 150mm x 30.9mm with Specialized remote – have rebuild kit on order, the post sinks ~1/8" at full extension, a known problem that rebuild purports to fix; otherwise works. 4/3: I put a little extra air it the post, could not get it to exhibit the issue. Still pursuing the rebuild kit.
Salsa Bend2 alloy bar, 23° backsweep, 740mm x 31.8mm – looks used but perfectly functional
New ODI Rogue lock-on grips
King headset
50mm x 31.8mm Ibis stem
Brooks Flyer Special saddle – recently treated with leather saddle conditioner
Surly/Revelate frame bag – holds 6 liters of water, I bought it new and it shows no signs of wear, just minor paint rub, zippers are perfect
Pedals not included

Note the loaded bike photos are just to show the frame bag, bike is built as listed above.

The bike has minor cosmetic wear as expected of a used MTB, including some housing rub on the frame from prev owner riding it with zip ties missing. No major crashes or anything potentially compromising the bike or parts. I rode the frame/fork loaded up on dirt/OHV roads and sand washes, plus a few days of light trail riding. Again, using my other parts – not the ones on the bike now (except the headset and stem).

I’m 5-10.5” tall, 34” inseam in shoes, +3.5 ape index. I felt at the bottom end of the large size, so anyone around my size or larger should be comfortable on it. It’s a super fun bike, especially loaded. Practial and bombproof design, including Gnot Boost rear that flexes to accept 142mm or 148mm/boost hub width. If I was staying in the desert I’d keep it.

$1650

If the frame bag isn't wanted, take $90 off the price. Knock off $60 if you don’t want the two-pound saddle.

Buyer foots UPS shipping from 85364. PayPal. PM me here. Thanks for looking.
