Looking for a classic road race tandem that's made in Oregon? This is an old one and a good one...

We are the second owners of this recently restored 2001-ish Co-Motion Robusta aluminum tandem. Size Medium which is ideal for a captain between 5'9" and 6 feet. (I believe the captains top tube is about 56.5cm).

This tandem was originally purchased new at Sunnyside Sports and we purchased it last summer from the original owners.

NOTE: Recently it had some frame damage and was repaired and repainted by Co-Motion Cycles in Eugene, Oregon. The new color is Robin's Egg Blue. The repair took a long time and we wound up purchasing another (used and nearly identical) Co-Motion tandem while we waited, hence this one being sold.

The frame is aluminum and takes caliper brakes only. It has no rack mounts or additional brake mounts so is more of a sporting road tandem than a touring tandem. The fork is the Wound-Up carbon tandem-specific fork.

The drivetrain and brakes are a mix of 9-speed Shimano Dura-Ace and Shimano Ultegra parts. The 700c wheels use 40H White Industries hubs and Velocity rims. There is a suspension seat post for the stoker.

This is a 20 year old tandem, but has been recently rebuilt with new Shimano bottom brackets, new FSA headset, new shift/brake cables and housing, (3) new Shimano chains, new Shimano timing rings, and fresh Bontrager bottle cages, bar tape and tires.

Overall this tandem looks great! It's in nearly spotless condition with a few cosmetic exceptions...

The triple chainrings and the Dura-Ace shifters both show some heavy cosmetic weathering but work fine. The rear Salsa QR skewer came from another tandem and is scratched. The cranks have some cosmetic rub marks and some scratches on the ends of the crank arms.

As expected, this freshly rebuilt and overhauled tandem rides and shifts great and has only a few rides on it since it was reassembled. We'd be excited to send it off to its new forever home with you! If you've got any tandem questions don't hesitate to call and/or come take a look at it. Thanks!

Saddles and pedals are likely not included.

Boxing and shipping a tandem usually runs $250 so in person pick up as best.
