2018 Santa Cruz Reserve 37 + I9 Hydra wheelset

Here we have a pair of brilliant Reserve wheels. Purchased at the end of 2018 from Stif Bikes. They’re 650b, and 37mm internal width. Originally laced to DT 350 hubs, but I upgraded them to a pair of Industry Nine Hydra hubs in 2020 - both are boost spacing and 28 hole laced. Rear hub has an XD driver body.

I’ve run the wheels without issues with 2.8 tyres, but they are listed to run anything from 2.6 upwards. A 2.5wt tyre can also be used with no bother.

The rims have already been registered for the lifetime warranty by myself as I’m the original owner, but I’m more than happy to keep in contact with the next owner should the worst ever happen and you manage to crack them - fyi, if ever you’ve watched the YouTube video of Danny MacAskill trying to trash these things, you’ll be very much aware how tough they are, so that should give you some peace of mind and a new respect and confidence in carbon rims.

Arguably and in my honest (and probably biased opinion) they’re the best carbon rims on the market.

These have been run tubeless so will show signs of use, but the overall condition is excellent, with very little to distinguish from a new pair. They run straight and true with no cracks. Hubs run smooth as you’d expect - the Hydra freehub is simply mesmerising.

Very difficult to get hold of at the moment due to the ongoing pandemic and supply issues with most shops unable to offer them until mid 2022 at the earliest, so a good opportunity to grab a set, especially with I9 hubs. Will suit those looking to run semi plus tyres with a bit of extra volume, or just going the full fat for e-biking!

Selling both wheels as a pair so will not split, I’m also not looking to strip the hubs out of the rims either - they are being sold as complete wheels. PLEASE NOTE: The tyres and Peatys’ valves are not included with the sale, these will be removed prior to any exchange - an original pair of standard valves will be fitted.

Possibly a very regrettable sale, but needs must. Collection only from a Nottinghamshire address though please - I’m not looking to post.
