If you are reading this, you already have FS trail bike and possibly an E Bike (hopefully SL) You are just adding this to your quiver for those perfect rides with fairly smooth over hardback, lots of climbing and not very rowdy downhills. 19 pounds WITH pedals accelerates like no other ride. No, you don't ride it daily, you use it on special courses and you might race it in Laguna Beach, Portland or Incline Xterra type events where climbing rules. This baby won my age group in 2019 xterra Laguna and Incline. Hasn't really been used since....just dog running in the mornings. As many do, I have 7 bikes.

2018....Barely a month ago, Specialized soft-launched the 2018 Epic hardtail. Already refreshed for 2017 with Improved geometry, it might have seemed a little frivolous of Specialized to bring out another new hardtail only 12 months later. As it turned out, the 2018 Epic S-Works Hardtail (thankfully) retains the same tube shapes and excellent geometry of last years bike, but simply cranks up the performance dial with a move to Specialized’s FACT 12m carbon fibre. The result? A claimed frame weight of just 800 grams, making this frame not only the lightest hardtail that Specialized has ever made, but the lightest frame FULL STOP.
