Yep, I am selling a time capsule!

It’s a 1-owner (critical info, right?) 2006 Cannondale Gemini 2000 size Medium in “raw aluminum.” I upgraded a lot of the components to the gold standard of the era:
• Shimano Saint crankset
• E-13 chainguide/bashguard
• SRAM X-O rear derailleur (9-speed long cage)
• RaceFace Diabolus 50mm 1.5” stem
• Easton Scandium bars (~25-30mm rise, period correct 650mm width)
• Mavic 729 disc front and rear rims

The frame is in pretty good shape and would brighten up nicely with a quick polish of the clear coat. There is no scratch or damage apart from the usual scuffs (I rode the darn thing) and a small crack on the rear dropout around the locking screw (see picture). The cable management is not great on these bikes, and most plastic cable guides have broken down with age. You can switch between 170mm and 150mm of rear travel through a change on the frame. It has a 1.5” headtube and a short reach compared to modern bikes (it’s from the 2000’s baby!). I am the original owner and still have the lifetime warranty card and invoice.
The fork is a Manitou Sherman 7” (~175mm) and needs at least a rebuild and probably new upper seals. I believe the spring is a Soft, but don’t quote me on that. The locking feature doesn’t engage properly, and the stanchions are in excellent shape. The rear damper needs rebuilding but is in great condition.
The seat has a tear in it.

The 26” wheels are in good shape, apart from a small ding on the rear (see pictures). The brakes operate but would require a bleed. The rear brake has been changed from the original Hayes purple to a newer model circa 2012. The tires are pretty old, but the trips still hold air.

This bike has been in my shed since 2013, and I was holding on to it because I wanted to convert it to something like a fun urban freeride bike, but it is honestly too small for me. I was 5’8” when I bought it, but your boy was still growing at the time, and now I am 6’.

I am open to discussing the price and willing to put it in a box if you want to pay to get it shipped. I am not paying for the box either, but I won’t charge if I need to drop it off at Fedex, Puro, or UPS.
$300 CAD
