JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our ideal candidate is someone who loves bikes, each and every one that walks through our doors. As a ZM Cycle & Fitness Bike Mechanic, you’ll use your knowledge and experience to get our clients and customers back out and enjoying their rides this season.

Whatever the bike, you'll provide a fantastic shop experience that keeps our clients & customers coming back. You’ll provide the support and necessary service to everyone from experienced seasoned riders to first-time commuters. We work on every possible bike imaginable, and the occasional mobility assisted device. So you’ll really improve your skills as a bike mechanic working here, while also serving the local communities needs.

The Position:
As a ZM Cycle & Fitness Ltd. Bike Mechanic, you’ll help maintain our status as the shop for every rider. We are a small yet efficient team of like-minded individuals dedicated to serving our local cycling community, our loyal customers, and new comers alike. Although we’re specifically looking for a seasonal / part time bike mechanic. Who can handle the nuts, bolts, bearings, grease, cables, brakes, & drivetrains, predominantly used in the cycling industry.

We are also looking for someone who can also handle the daily meet and greet of customer traffic through-out the day, along with helping the owner and store manager with potential sales, checking inventory, and providing excellent customer service skills when necessary.

You’ll be responsible for any and all Requests for Service, Repairs, & Installation.
Whether it is trouble shooting: SRAM, Shimano, or mircoShift drivetrains, Bleeding Brakes, repairing flats, truing & re-lacing Wheels, re-packing hubs, repairing & installing new parts, to tuning & servicing any quality Road, Gravel, Commuter, or Mountain Bike.

Or simply recommending any service needed to solve the issue at hand. Along with Sharing your knowledge / expertise in regards to upgrading & replacing parts, to provide an overall better riding experience.

Job Requirements:
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience
• Friendly & approachable customer service oriented attitude
• Inspect any bike in their overall condition for damaged parts & compromised areas
• Recommend any necessary service, parts, and components as needed / requested.
• Quoting for any recommended service, repairs, & installation of parts
• Communicate the ins & outs of our service standards, terms & conditions
• Thoroughly filling out work orders with easy to read writing.
• Knowledge of how to Service a wide variety of bikes
• Able to trouble shoot / Repair common & advanced mechanical bike issues
(Wheels, Hubs, Derailleurs, Shifters, Cables, Brakes, & Bearings etc.)
• Proficient in bleeding brakes & common service practices
(SRAM, Shimano, Trp, Magura, Hope, & OEM Types etc. )
• Demonstrated ability to true and re build wheels
• Contacting customers in regards to the state & completion of their bike
• Ensure all bikes leaving our service area meet our high standards & is safe to ride
• Assemble all new bikes out of the box
• Help with meeting customers, answer the phone, & provide service/ repairs.
• Able to lift up to 25-50 pounds & work on your feet for the full shift

WORK HOURS & AVAILABILTY:
Starting Shift Hours Per Day 4-6:
• With the possibility of working 6-8 hours per day during peak season
Starting Hours Per Week 12- 20:
• Open Availability On Weekends + 1 or 2 Days During the workweek for possible scheduled shifts
• With the possibility of increased hours ranging from 25 – 35 hours per week during the peak season
• With the possibility of returning next season or be hired as a Full Time employee
